How “advanced image recognition” equals “document intelligence”

Every day your organization receives piles of documents.

Some arrive in the mail. Some arrive via email. Some arrive in another digital format.

So many documents: invoices, inventories, requisitions, purchase orders, billing statements, and many others. Some relate to customers, others to vendors. They might contain information about utility usage, raw materials, office supplies, tax bills, or something else entirely.

In the old days you hired people to sift through these documents, figure out what they meant, and then devise a plan of action moving forward. This all took time, and when you’re paying workers, time is money. And what’s worse, sometimes mistakes were made by staff members.

Wouldn’t it be great if your accounting department had the ability to eliminate data entry from their daily tasks?

Well, there is a solution – Quidi.

What is Quidi? We could say “software,” and that would be true, but it’s software on a whole different plane from what went before.

Is your document a “hard copy?” Just scan it to your email. Quidi – without even taking the “human” time to figure out what it is, will do the work for you. I want to be clear. Quidi does not use OCR (“optical character recognition”). It uses advanced image recognition. It deciphers the document and extracts the necessary information. And the OCR built into Quidi leaves forerunners in the dust – it reads printed text but also handwriting, English but also foreign languages. And if your document wasn’t a “hard copy,” but rather an email or an email attachment or some other incoming digital format, things move even faster.

Once Quidi has access to a document, OCR-facilitated deciphering is only the first step – having examined the “surface” level of a document, Quidi then begins to analyze the content - using artificial intelligence tools like “natural language processing” (NLP) and “large language models” (LLM’s), it “reads” documents to uncover meaning

Sound amazing? It is, but it’s only the start – once the meaning is uncovered, that’s when Quidi really goes to work! Since Quidi “understands” what a document is, it’s able to:

  • Identify multiple invoices in a single PDF

  • Extract information like invoice number, date, amounts, vendor name

  • Categorize an invoice – for example, whether it’s a utility bill, a raw materials bill, or a bill for services like legal or accounting expenses

  • Push data to financial platforms, ERP’s (“enterprise resource planning” formats), EHR’s (“electronic health records”), or other internal record-keeping systems

  • Identify fields or entries requiring immediate human review

  • Route information and/or documents to the proper staff member

And it does all this with a user-friendly interface that is easy to learn and navigate based upon your needs or purposes – plus Quidi can integrate with multiple software platforms like QuickBooks and others.

Adopting Quidi means that you are forward-thinking, embracing the power of automation. It’s more than a “tool” – it’s a “digital facilitator,” enabling employees to focus on taking action rather than processing paper. Call us today to find out more!
